Chelsea Hall Boot Camp
Chelsea Hall is pleased to offer our ACT Boot Camp. This Prep Course is designed for students seeking an intensive, rigorous training course to prepare for an upcoming test. Summer test dates are June 8, 2024, and July 13, 2024. The June 8 test date is a TIR date (Test Information Release). To request this service – register here:https://www.act.org/content/act/en/products-and-services/the-act/scores/request-a-copy-of-qa.html

Tutors will present concepts and testing strategies for the types of questions on the different sections of the ACT.

The ACT Reading section tests four different passages, so it’s essential to know where your strengths are! The passages focus on topics in social studies, natural sciences, prose fiction, and the humanities. With both literal and reasoning questions on these topics, we’ll give you the strategies and tips to move through these questions quickly!

Questions in the Science section cover data representation (graphs, tables, and other schematic forms), research summaries (descriptions of several related experiments), and conflicting viewpoints (expressions of several related hypotheses or views that are inconsistent with one another). This session provides strategies and tips to tackle these questions and reviews the essential science concepts that will be tested.

The Math section usually has six question types: pre-algebra, elementary algebra, and intermediate algebra questions; plane geometry and coordinate geometry questions; and some trigonometry questions. Our boot camp provides guided review and practice of these questions, along with strategies and tips to prepare the student for this section of the ACT.

Even students who excel with writing and grammar in school can struggle with ACT English because the test has its own logic. What can be more confusing are the ACT English grammar rules that are tested in this section. Our English session will focus on the grammar rules comprising the two question categories in this section. Strategies, tips, guided practice, and exercises will prepare the student for this section of the ACT.

There will also be a lot of guided practice. Students can complete additional practice tests before the ACT. Practice is truly the key to success in a cram session!

Whether you’ve decided to prepare with a book or a tutoring class, consider study preferences, score goals, and resources when deciding on a starting point. A good general starting point for prep is approximately three months before your test date. This plan provides time to review the tested content and learn strategies for all the question types covered by the ACT. Six months may be appropriate if a more significant gap exists between your current and goal scores.

Whenever you decide to begin ACT prep, the best start to any program is with a diagnostic test that will reveal what concepts, rules, and strategies will give you the most effective tools for score improvement. We offer free diagnostic tests. To schedule a test, email us at register@chelseahall.com. Or call us at 817-912-1551. The test takes approximately 3 hours and can be completed anytime during business hours.

All materials will be provided.
